MODERATOR’S ANNUAL REPORT

April, 2008

The 2007 Annual Reports from PW in the Congregation were received from 21 of 50 active churches however, 79% of the 63 churches are represented in charitable giving:

♥ 88% participated in the annual pledge to national, synod and presbytery PW

♥ 78% of the organized PW groups financially support the Birthday Offering

♥ 68% financially and prayerfully supported the Fellowship of the Least Coin

♥ 64% supported the Thank Offering

There were 42 other mission categories including:

• 16 different shelters

• 14 different feeding programs plus Feeding Children in the Congo

• 13 groups supported Presbyterian Homes

• 13 sent goodie boxes and bags to shut-ins, military, college students and shelters

• 9 provided funds for blankets

• 8 health ministries

• 8 sewing, quilting, knitting ministries

• 6 participate in “Links of Love” to support Sunnyside

Most of the circles use the Horizons annual Bible study and every group supports their local churches with receptions, fellowship and children’s programming. In 2007, Honorary Life Memberships were given to 13 Presbyterian Women who modeled extraordinary Christian virtues. The talents, dedication and ingenuity of PW are amazing. We thank God for our gifts and especially for the opportunities to serve others. The Synod Summer Gathering at Massanetta Springs from June 13-15, 2008 will once again feature Rev. Dale Lindsay Morgan. She has an amazing gift and it is well worth the money to go and be inspired by her. The SSG will celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of PW and on Friday night, the PEVA ladies will gather for Bunco again. We had so much fun last year!

The Synod Summer Gathering at Massanetta Springs from June 13-15, 2008 will once again feature Rev. Dale Lindsay Morgan. She has an amazing gift and it is well worth the money to go and be inspired by her. The SSG will celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of PW and on Friday night, the PEVA ladies will gather for Bunco again. We had so much fun last year!

It has been a privilege to serve on the Presbytery PW Coordinating Team for the past three years. I appreciated the opportunity for leadership development at both the Presbytery and Synod levels. I loved serving on the Synod CT and the Summer Gathering Planning Teams. I have enjoyed serving on the Presbytery Council and providing different PW exhibits at each meeting. As PWP Moderator, I reorganized the Coordinating Team and updated the bylaws and standing rules. The PCT increased spiritual nurturing at our meetings and provided affordable Gatherings and creative workshops. In addition, we revised our position descriptions and organization chart and published a comprehensive directory and handbook.

One of the most important things about PW is the personal relationships you develop along the way. It was a gift to be invited to your churches and your special celebrations. Thanks for sharing your love. Now, we are delighted with the new women have stepped up to the leadership challenge for this coming year. Just imagine what the new Coordinating Team can accomplish with Nelda Pressly’s passion for mission!
