Stone Soup

Stone Soup

PEVA's HAE found a very simple way to encourage those to share!  This could be tailored  in many ways to use in your church Sunday School , VBS or Children Time especially around a time when your church is having a food drive, collecting need items for those in need, OGHS etc...

PEVA's HAa and Chuck Paul of Hilton PC used this lesson at the Migrant Head Start Center in Cherition, VA in 2015.  The children even interacted and placed the items in the pot.

Q&A :

What would stone soup taste like without any vegetables?  Not very good.

Was it fair or unfair of the soup-maker to suggest the people of the village into adding their vegetables?  With them adding the vegetables the soup was rich, delicious, and plentiful enough for one and all! Even the small things together make a difference.

What lesson does this story teach us?  Its a gentle reminder of the great benefit of sharing (with our brothers and sisters), and sharing with those that are in need.
