Per Capita
PEVA must pay Per Capita for every member - 2012 is posted

PEVA must pay Per Capita for every member of every church regardless of the amount pledged and remitted to the presbytery by that church. Per Capita supports the administration and ministry of Synod and PCUSA.

GA Per Capita for 2011 is $6.50 per member. So, out of the pledge that each church sends, that amount is multiplied by the number of members reported for that church, and paid to GA. 200-member church = $1300.  Synod now charges a flat fee for 2011 which works out to about $0.73 per member.

GA Per Capita for 2012 is $6.63 per member
Synod flat fee is $0.80 per member

It is important to know that, in addition to an annual per capita payment to GA, there is also one for the Synod. They must be paid and are paid from the Unified Mission Giving (Operating Budget) of PEVA. This money is used for the operating budgets of GA and Synod. Other designated giving to higher church funds are sent over and above this.

When churches fail to contribute at least to the level of the per capita associated with their membership, then funds contributed by other churches for PEVA’s Ministries of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, must be diverted from those critical Ministries to pay the per capita associated with being a “connectional church.”
