Proposed Amendments to the Book of Order

At the upcoming January Stated meeting of the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia, the Presbytery will be voting on the proposed changes to the Book of Order approved by and recommended to the presbyteries for their affirmative or negative votes by the 223rd General Assembly (2018).

Commissioners can review the proposed changes by reading the STUDY GUIDE.

Blankets for the Homeless

blanketsLooking for a mission that helps the homeless? Consider having a blanket drive for “Blankets for the Homeless” or volunteer.  Blankets for the Homeless is a local non-profit organization founded in 2011 that goes out 4 nights a week delivering 50 blankets and lunches per night. The lunches have a sandwich, bag of chips, piece of fruit, cookies, and a bottle of water.

Providence Presbyterian Church volunteers gathered in 2016 to construct shelving and organize goods to improve Blankets for the Homeless  distribution process in their new donated office space, they also provided dozens of storage containers to improve organization. Third Presbyterian Church had a Blanket Sunday October 2014, they collected 60 blankets and other needed items, and UPM ODU Campus Ministry participated in handing out blankets in the winter of 2012 you can get involved too!
